Farewell, Deadline Number Two…

…and greetings, deadline number three.

Another Friday comes and goes, and it feels as though the closer I get to finishing, the more that needs to be done.  My cover still needs to be photographed and laid out, I need to complete my edits (still), I need to get some ISBN stuff finished (that I thought was already complete) and THEN, I can pull the trigger on publishing.

I’ve also taken a step back to reconsider my choice of publisher(s).  Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with either of them, but there’s a lot of duplicity in their coverage and distribution, then a few things I want to see done, but aren’t available to both.  If I didn’t care about print, I’d stick with Smashwords, and if I didn’t worry about CreateSpace’s distribution channels (and their royalty structure), I’d stick with them.  *Sigh

So what to do?  I think I need to give up scheduling deadlines.  I never make them, and it’s downright depressing.  For now, I think I’ll just focus on the final edits, THEN the cover, THEN the ISBN, THEN the publishing, blah, blah.

On the bright side, it’s Friday.
