Just Another Manic Monday

Yes, I do like titling my posts based on songs and movie quotes.  Well, this time, it’s appropriate.  It’s been tough getting into the swing of things after the rollercoaster that was this weekend.  I feel like I need a weekend off from the weekend.

Book-wise, I though I was off to a strong start.  I order another printed proof of Crown, did a TON of storyboarding, and even some snippets.  But then, it happened — I hit a wall.  And not only did I hit a wall, I went back a read some of the stuff I done.  I was not pleased at all.

I think there are a few things complicating matters.  One, if you start a series off on an “epic” scale, it stands to reason the subsequent installments should be about the same size.  It wouldn’t do to start off with a 150,000-word book, then follow it up with 90,000-word sequels.  So, start off big, finish big.  No pressure.
