Well, yet another week has passed, and once again, progress on Dagger is slow in coming. In fact, I’m not even going to post my progress chart. But, I have some great excuses.
First, I’ve been doing what I can only call “research” for Pride. It’s basically putting down back stories, lore, and religious facts. In short, it’s further fleshing out Eörlond. For me, doing this sort of thing is crucial to maintaining a consistent, rich, and believable environment. So, for those of you who are waiting with bated breath for Pride’s release, it’s still pretty far off, but progress is being made.
Second, I need to take a little break. I know, I said I was going to have my own, fake, NaNoWrMo and power-write straight through Dagger. Then, it occurred to me; I’ve been writing and/or editing for almost three years solid. It feels like that’s a long time to let your creative brain run at full tilt. Every free moment I have to myself, I have spent writing, and that doesn’t require typing
